The Mindset Blocks Keeping 6 Figure Entrepreneurs Stuck

Business Growth

This episode addresses why many coaches and consultants remain stuck at six-figure earnings.

Contrary to popular belief, it often isn't a lack of strategy but rather an 'identity problem' that holds them back. The speaker explains that three common identity blocks are responsible: operating like a freelancer, fearing visibility, and undervaluing oneself. Practical steps are provided to shift from a freelancer to a business owner identity, embrace visibility, and charge what you're worth. Growth Pros, the speaker's program, is also introduced as a resource to help make these transformative changes.

[00:00:00] If you're stuck at six figures, it's not because you don't know what to do, it's because you won't let yourself do it. Let me explain. You're stuck at six figures. Maybe it's 120,000, maybe it's 180,000, but you've been hovering around this range for a year, maybe two, and you can't seem to break through.

So you look at solutions, you buy another course, you hire another consultant, you look for another agency, you look for another freelancer. You rebuild your funnel, you try a new marketing strategy and well, nothing changes. Here's what I've learned after working with over 220 coaches and consultants over the last 11 years.

If you're stuck at six figures, it's almost never a strategy problem. It's an identity problem. And today I'm gonna break down the real reason you're stuck. And why? No amount of tactics will fix it until you address this thing. Let's start with the most common mistake I see, which is you're stuck at six figures.

So assume you need a bit, you need better tactics, a better offer, a better funnel, better copy, better ads. And look, strategy does [00:01:00] matter. Not counting that. I've spent 11 years specializing in Facebook ads, landing pages, and email campaigns, and I'm not gonna tell you that tactics don't work. But here's the thing.

Most six figure coaches and consultants already know what to do. You know, you should be creating content. You know, you should be following up with your leads. You know, you should be raising your prices. You know, you should be saying no to clients who are just a bad fit. You all, you know all this stuff already, but why aren't you doing it?

I, and I got to this point a couple years ago and I realized that I was just grinding. I was just doing what was needed. I was making decent amount of money. But I just wasn't growing, and this is a pattern I see over and over again, and people actually hire me thinking that they need a new strategy. But when we dig in, they already have a strategy.

They're just not executing it. Why? Because the real block isn't tactical, it's psychological. So what's actually keeping you stuck? Let me break down the [00:02:00] three identity blocks I see in almost every six figure coach and consultant I work with Block number one. You're still operating like a freelancer.

Even though you've built a business, you're still showing up like a service provider. You trade time for money, you do the work yourself. You're the bottleneck in every part of your business. Why? Because somewhere deep down, you don't actually believe you can lead a team. Or maybe you've tried and you haven't done it successfully.

You don't trust other people to deliver the same quality. You're maybe afraid that if you are not doing everything, clients are gonna leave. And this is freelancer identity. And you can't scale to seven figures with a freelancer identity, and I experienced this over a number of years. I was trading time for money and even though I shifted to a monthly retainer, there was still an amount of time that was required to put into the client because that's what they felt was necessary.

And if you're at your job, yes, you have to check in at a certain [00:03:00] time and be at the office. So at least be online during a certain certain hours. And then, you know, you leave or you log off at whatever time of the day. It's the same thing. Trading time for money. Now I realized that I needed to build leverage into my business.

I realized that there was a shift and I could not keep doing the time for money thing. I knew that I actually wanted to build something where I didn't need to be the bottleneck of everything. I didn't need to be the person clicking all of the buttons. Even though you've built a business, you're still showing up like a service provider.

You're trading time for money. You do the work yourself. You are the bottleneck. This is freelancer identity, and you can't scale to seven figures with a freelancer identity. Here's the second block that I see. You're terrified of being visible. You know, you should be creating content, maybe posting on LinkedIn, making videos for YouTube or Instagram, building a personal brand, but you're just not doing it, or you're doing it inconsistently as I have [00:04:00] been.

Or you're overthinking every post and never actually hitting publish. Why? Because visibility means judgment. It means people have opinions about you. It means you might get criticized compared or rejected. And if you're somebody who spent your whole life avoiding conflict and people pleasing, visibility just feels dangerous.

But here's the reality. You can't scale without visibility. Just period. The coaches that are making seven figures aren't hiding. They're out there consistently showing up, being seen. Block number three. You don't actually believe you are worth more, and this is a big one, right? That nobody wants to admit this.

You're stuck at six figures because somewhere inside you don't believe you deserve more. You don't believe your work is worth more. You don't believe clients will pay you more. So you keep undercharging, you keep over-delivering, and you keep saying yes to project that just drain you because you're [00:05:00] afraid if you say no, money will dry up.

This is scarcity thinking. And scarcity thinking keeps you stuck. I've been there. I've undercharged clients taken on small projects just because I felt like, oh, I needed to help this person out. But the truth is, the shift from six figures to seven figures isn't about working harder. It's about believing you're already valuable enough to charge what you're worth.

You're stuck at six figures because somewhere inside you don't believe you deserve more. So you keep undercharging overdelivering saying yes to projects. That drain you. And the shift to six figures isn't about working harder, it's about believing you are already valuable enough. So how do you actually fix this?

Well, you stop looking for new tactics and start working on your identity. Step one, redefine who you are. You're not a freelance anymore. You're not a service provider. You're a business owner, a leader, a strategist. This isn't just semantics. This [00:06:00] is about how you show up, how you make decisions, how you price your work.

When you operate from a CEO identity, you delegate. You build systems, you invest in leverage. You focus on the 20% of work that actually moves the needle. Step two, get comfortable. Being seen. Visibility isn't optional. If you wanna scale, you have to get over the fear of judgment. You have to start showing up consistently.

Even when it's uncomfortable, I mean, these videos are testimony, and here's the thing, the judgment you are afraid of, most of it is in your head. The people who criticize you online aren't your ideal clients anyway. Who are your ideal clients? Well, they're looking for somebody confident enough to lead them, and cnce comes from visibility.

Step three, you're not gonna like this. It's hard. Charge what you're worth because it requires you to stop playing small. You have to raise your prices. You have to say no to bad for clients. You have to trust that the right people will pay [00:07:00] you what you're worth. And when you do this, everything changes.

'cause when you charge premium prices, you attract premium clients, you work less, you make more, and you finally have the space to actually scale. Now, inside Growth Pros, this is one of the first things we work on with one of my partners, Caleb, in shifting your identity from, I'm lucky to have clients. To, I'm selective about who I work with.

That shift alone is huge. If you're stuck at six figures and you're tired of trying new tactics that don't work, I want you to hear this. It's not your strategy, it's not your identity. And the good news is that you can actually change it. And inside Growth Pros, we work on exactly that. Shifting your identity, building your confidence, giving you the strategy and support to scale without burning out.

I handle marketing and strategy. While Caleb focuses on leadership and mindset, and if you're ready to finally break through that six figure ceiling, there's a link in the description. You can apply for a strategy call [00:08:00] and let's figure out what's actually keeping you stuck and how to fix it. But whether you join or not, take this with you.

Stop looking for the next tactic. Start looking at who you are being. I'll see you in the next one.
